Optical Transport - Lambda Driver

Lambda Driver

LambdaDriver®

Compact, Scalable WDM Optical Transport Solution

MRV’s LambdaDriver® is its premiere optical transport system for building high-performance enterprise access, metropolitan carrier and long haul transport networks. The LambdaDriver® is a multi-functional,  compact, modular WDM system that supports both dense wavelength division multiplexing and coarse wavelength division multiplexing technology.  LambdaDriver® also serves as a packet optical transport system by integrating Carrier Ethernet connection-oriented services and reconfigurable OADM for automated optical mesh topologies with wavelength-level switching. The LambdaDriverTM series can support data rates from 8 Mbps up to 40 Gbps with seamless future upgrades to 100 Gbps.

As new technologies and equipment evolve and abound, businesses and service providers must respond to growing traffic and service requirements while reducing power consumption, size, and overall cost.  The LambdaDriver® series delivers astounding results to businesses and operators that need to maximize the bandwidth and service flexibility of their networks, while creating new revenue opportunities through high-speed Ethernet, SONET/SDH optical rings and SAN services.

The LambdaDriver® series chassis include three compact chassis, LD 400, LD 800 and LD 1600, 19-inch rack mountable chassis with modular architecture and hot-swappable modules that can be selected to meet network and service requirement. The LambdaDriverTM all-inclusive transparent access interfaces (transponders) are single slot modules that supports all data centric protocols, enabling businesses and service providers to mix all the protocols in a range of 8 Mbps and 10 GE, including SONET/SDH, Ethernet, Video (SDI/ASI), Voice (E1/T1) and Storage (SAN) applications.
