Pro-Vision® Service Management Platform

Provisioning and Network Management Platform

MRV’s Pro-Vision® is a carrier-class service management platform that offers operators service creation, service assurance, maintenance, fault management applications and tools to fully manage and control large-scale cost effective, reliable Carrier Ethernet services.

Pro-Vision® simplifies Ethernet Services creation and activation, allows SLA setting and verification and supports proactive, per-service fault management. Pro-Vision® is optimized to unlock the power of Carrier Ethernet-based infrastructure and enables network-wide monitoring, configuration and troubleshooting centrally via a user friendly point and click graphical interface.

Pro-Vision® supports full FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, Security) functionality and serves as an integral part of carriers’ OSS environment.

Features

  • Effective Service Creation: Rapid service creation is one of the most important service management functions for carriers offering differentiated revenue generating Carrier Ethernet services. Pro-Vision® allows create, activate, configure services remotely (E-Line/E-LAN), define bandwidth profiles and policies, traffic filtering, service extension performance monitoring, and other network management tasks to be performed from an easy to use, centrally located network management application.
  • Advanced Graphical Reporting: Provides real-time intuitive service visualization graphics tools for OAM reporting. Per service accounting and performance monitoring, configurable data collection and thresholds, performance results and history, detailed RFC 2544 service turn up services, data collection and alarm thresholds.
  • Powerful performance monitoring and health checking: Ensures end to end visibility into how a service is performing in a service providers network and that proper network performance levels are being met enables reconciliation of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as well as providing a powerful tool for planning and network capacity utilization. Pro-Vision® provides real-time reporting on various service and network performance metrics, enabling network engineers and managers to monitor, adjust and configure end-to-end Ethernet services.  Trending analysis can be conducted using real-time and historical reporting which can be exported in various formats.
  • Proactive Fault Management: Pro-Vision® fault management provides per-service and end-to-end fault detection tools allowing service providers identify faults before SLA’s are violated. It offers comprehensive event/trap processing, including flexible user-defined filtering, suppression and propagation with intelligent correlation and historical views. Alarm drill down can be categorized by severity, managed resource type, time of day etc. Alarm status is color-coded for instant identification in a visual graphical format.
  • Advanced Security: Carrier networks often are managed by a number of different organizations each with varying levels of access and control. Pro-Vision® provides flexible multi user security levels which allow the administrator to control specific operations,  views, maps, audit trails and logs that can be accessed by individual users, further reducing risk of unauthorized access and misconfiguration.
  • Site Maintenance: Pro-Vision® provides the ability to upgrade configurations and software remotely manually and on a scheduled basis across multiple devices simultaneously. In addition,  Pro-Vision® supports automatic device turn-up process for access devices, with zero-touch configuration, to significantly reduce the Operator’s TCO.
  • Carrier Class Scalability and Availability: Pro-Vision®  is a scalable client-server architecture, which allows future growth.  It supports distributed multi tier architecture of redundant front-end servers and the back end database servers, The real-time device pollers support highly granular performance data collection from large-scale installations with numerous devices.
  • Automatic Zero-Touch Device Turn-up: Process minimizes technician on-site operations and simplifies device installation and maintenance. Device is remotely setup for IP address,  validation, software updates, firmware version and configuration files is automatically updated and synchronized without any manual intervention.
  • Remote Configuration: The configuration file template creator eases the creation of individual configuration files to the devices. The individual configuration files can be automatically downloaded to the device during the device turn-up stage
  • Native OSS Integration: As an integral part of the Operator’s OSS, Pro-Vision® supports a Northbound interface to allow connectivity to OSS Systems. SNMP, CORBA and SOAP/XML are offered for Northbound communication, allowing the OSS systems to retrieve valuable information such as alarms, performance monitoring results, device inventory and performance statistics.
