Coyote Point Systems Announces Virtual ADC for Hosted and Managed Service Providers
SAN JOSE, CA, July 20, 2010 - Coyote Point Systems, a leading provider of application acceleration and load balancing solutions for the small-to-medium size enterprise, today announced the release of Equalizer OnDemandTM, a full-featured, virtual Application Delivery Controller (ADC). Equalizer OnDemandTm can be installed on a virtual infrastructure running VMwareTM, and provides server load balancing and content routing among multiple, diverse physical and virtual servers.
Managed hosting providers can deploy Equalizer OnDemand to support multiple customers, or on a per-customer, per application basis. This provides service providers with flexible deployment options and additional capabilities to support new revenue generating opportunities for application delivery services. With Coyote Point’s Virtual ADC, service providers can “pay as they grow” by simply adding Equalizer OnDemand licenses, allowing them to recognize a significant reduction in cost, without sacrificing performance. Equalizer OnDemand can be easily installed and provisioned in minutes, enabling managed service providers to rapidly scale to meet their customer demands.
“At Coyote Point we’ve always prided ourselves on delivering the best products to meet our customer’s specific business needs,” said Bill Kish, CTO and Alpha Coyote at Coyote Point. “Cloud Providers and Hosting companies need flexible, virtualized solutions to support very real application delivery challenges. Equalizer OnDemand was designed specifically to meet those needs.”
Equalizer OnDemand enables network managers to initiate multiple virtual Equalizer ADCs within their virtual infrastructure (Cloud) to optimize and scale virtual server resources according to real-time traffic demands, and scales similarly to an Equalizer appliance with equal throughput capacity.
As more data centers look to the cloud as a way to conserve costs, Equalizer OnDemand adds a new level of control by automating the provisioning and de-provisioning of virtual server resources. With Equalizer smart controlTM, VMware servers can be brought up and taken down automatically and dynamically, based on real-time traffic demand and predicted traffic threshold levels. The need to over-provision servers to handle load spikes is now eliminated. The fiscal impact reduces capital expenses (fewer servers), as well as operational expenses (power, cooling, maintenance and management).
Features of the Coyote Point Soft ADC:
- Intelligent layer 4-7 load balancing and application-based routing
- Based on EQ/OSTM Coyote Point’s award winning, advanced traffic management operating system
