Gen-X IT and SMC Networks sign UK Distribution Agreement
Manchester, UK, 19th August 2009 - Gen-X IT Ltd has signed an official UK Distribution Agreement with Vendor SMC Networks.
SMC Networks is part of the Accton group, and a leading provider of LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices with over 35 years experience in the Networking Industry.
With this agreement, Gen-x will distribute the complete portfolio of SMC products, particularly focusing on the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) market. The distributor will look for new opportunities in the IT channel to expand its business. It will offer the full range of SMC Networks’ products and solutions, including Gigabit and Fast Ethernet Switching, Wireless networking, Broadband connectivity products as well as traditional network adapters and a broad spectrum of switches.
George Zervos, Northern Europe Sales director said “We are very glad to bring Gen-X IT on board. This agreement will open us new avenues of sales and support in the UK market and it will help us to expand and grow the business in the local IT market.”
Gen-x will begin distributing SMC’s products from August and are inviting resellers to visit them on stand 465 at IP Expo 09, Earls Court London on 7-8 October where they will showcasing a selection of SMC products. Gen-X Business Development Manager Paul Smith, who was instrumental negotiating the agreement, said “I am very pleased to add a brand like SMC Networks to our portfolio. SMC is a name that is synonymous with the networking industry and has a fantastic range of products to serve the marketplace, from the lower end of the market right through to high performance switches. I would encourage resellers to visit us at IP 09 to see a demonstration of SMC’s products in action.”
Gen-X IT Marketing Manager Giles Roe said “Adding a brand like SMC Networks is a great step forward for us. This agreement will benefit our resellers by allowing us to offer them an even wider range of networking products along with extra benefits such as SMC’s Dialog partner program and free e-training.”
